Svemin and Jernkontoret have just released the list “40 over 40” to highlight women in the mining and steel industries, and the knowledge and experience they contribute with. Swedish Mining Innovation’s program director Jenny Greberg is one of the 40 women on this year’s list.
– It feels great and honoring of course, and it’s especially rewarding considering the effort we, as an innovation program, invest in more inclusive innovation in the mining industry. The list is a great initiative to highlight the critical efforts made by women in these male-dominated industries, and helps us attract even more women, says Jenny Greberg.
Today, women make up just 20 percent of all employees in the mining and steel industries. Swedish Mining Innovation works to promote inclusive innovation. In the program’s latest open call, 41 percent of project funds were allocated to project managers who are women – a record and a significant increase compared to the previous average.
